The schoolwide enrichment model for reading (SEM-R) framework

Educators and researchers have suggested that the Schoolwide Enrichment Model for Reading (SEM-R) is an appropriate approach helps in meeting their needs. SEM-R was developed from general SEM model. It designed to emphasize reading enjoyment skill development (Reis et al., 2008). The consists of three phases: (a) Phase I: Exposure, (b) II: Supported Independent Reading, (c) III: Choice Components. Separate studies demonstrated effectiveness on increasing gifted students’ fluency, achievement, attitude toward reading.
